The first organized event to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer started over thirty years ago and since then October has become synonymous with a pink ribbon and the Susan G. Komen Ⓡ organization. Since the 80’s, this foundation has grown to become the largest nonprofit source of funding for the fight against breast cancer.

“The numbers are sobering and almost everyone knows someone who has been touched by breast cancer in some way, shape or form,” says Catherine Nation, our EVP of Retail and Marketing. “It’s important to be a part of the solution and Susan G. Komen does so much to address the different aspects of breast cancer awareness from community and global outreach to research and treatment.”

So, throughout October, Johnny Was is donating 50% of the proceeds from the sales of our Scarves for a Cure collection to Susan G. Komen. This is a curated assortment of our top-selling designs, all with a hint-of-pink to show your support. Snap up one for yourself, for a friend or store it away and cross someone off your holiday gift list early. Also, why not sign up for Race for the Cure near you or even organize your own fundraiser–every little bit helps and every little bit makes a difference
