When it came time to create our newest collection, Jade, Senior Designer of Jade, Christy Whitley took inspiration from vintage craftsmanship, precious gemstones and The City of Lights. “I was inspired by my trips to Paris and Amsterdam and the undeniably chic way that European women interpret the bohemian aesthetic,” she says. “Jade has got gorgeous femininity to it with a color palette of dusty rose, reds, rose gold and warm cognac.”
The name Jade comes from one of our favorite precious gemstones, known for its ability to invoke feelings of serenity and love in the wearer. With silhouettes like floaty tunics, wrap dresses and relaxed peasant tops, the feeling will be the same when you get to know (and wear) this collection. “The fabrications are really luxurious like a sand-washed crepe de chine that has the softest hand,” adds Christy. “And I also made sure to include details like every dress being fully lined.” For some spring inspiration, here are a few picks from Jade, as well as ways to wear them.
“A new silhouette for us is the wrap top and one of my favorites is the Penny,” says Christy. Crafted from gorgeous silk twill and features a cool combination of floral prints, we layered it over the Sonny Dress. A tip for pairing prints with panache? Pick patterns where the designs are the same size, as these small florals, and even seemingly odd color combos will look fantastic.
“There are so many small details in the Jade Collection like on this Irene Dress. I added a lot of belts and eyelet embroidery to many of the pieces,” says Christy. With detailing this rich, it’s easy to dress up, switch out the casual sandal for a heel and a chic pashmina and this beauty can easily go to a formal event.
It’s easy to add a utilitarian edge to a feminine piece by pairing it with a classic bomber jacket. This Karina dress is crafted from a luxe cotton silk and has a relaxed silhouette that can either be worn as a dress or layered over a skinny jean. We paired it under this slightly cropped jacket that highlighted the dusty rose hue of the dress with the floral embroidery.
“You can keep these pieces streamlined or really boho them up!”
