Jump(suit) for Joy

Need a chic "one and done" solution for your wardrobe? Johnny Was has boho jumpsuits, women's jumpsuits with sleeves, black jumpsuits and more.

Like most things fashion, trends tend to dip in and out of vogue, but there are few perennials that are always on point—great jeans, cashmere knits , tailored blazers and (one of our personal favorites) the jumpsuit. For spring and summer, this one-and-done beauty is back in a myriad of ways making it the effortlessly elegant choice whether you’re in weekending or working. “A great jumpsuit is the epitome of easy chic,” says Theresa McAllen, our VP of Design. “Plus, it takes seconds to get dressed and works with every kind of accessory so you can really dress them up or down.”

Our latest collection is all about the jumpsuit, and with the temps getting warmer, and spring slipping into summer, this body-skimming silhouette gives a breezy elegance to your everyday look. Here are three of our current favorites.

Basic Black Jumpsuit & Sustainable

The most foolproof of all is the black jumpsuit. This Fleece Easy Jumpsuit is part of our Calmé Collection, which explores different sustainable practices every season. It’s crafted from an organic cotton and Tencel blend (a fabric made from wood pulp). It’s a stretchy, pull-on silhouette with a cropped flared leg and could be the piece you put on for morning coffee on the porch, or an evening gathering with friends. It pares with any accessory and shoe—from flat to heeled sandal—we recommend making this outfit complete with our Lucia Necklace & Printed Kangaroo Wallet. Last year, we designed a similar model and it became one of our year’s best sellers.

Maximum Print Jumpsuit with Sleeves

Spring and summer is the perfect time to dabble with a bold, floral print and this Karisma Mixed Jumpsuit is a Johnny Was favorite. Crafted from a breezy rayon, which has a beautiful drape, it’s got a relaxed silhouette with a fresh, wider leg and a wide, drop-shoulder sleeve and a drawstring cinch at the waist for a flattering nip. It’s the jumpsuit version of a maxi dress with an unexpected peek-a-boo detail in the back. This jumpsuit truly is a one and done piece, we're wearing it with the Studs Crossbody and a flat sandal so the hemline almost skims the ground and just tuck a fresh flower behind your ear for the perfect back-to-nature accessory.

The Embroidery of Summer Jumpsuit Look

A cropped ankle and a sun-kissed shoulder make the Tayshia Cropped Jumpsuit a 24/7 silhouette. Complete this outfit with the Embroidered Tippi Tote that matches this jumpsuit perfectly and the most elegant, everyday jewelry - like our Melissa Bracelet. It has a slimmer fit and buttons up the front but the real appeal is our signature embroidery. Desert blooms on the top and geometric details that trim each leg. “One of my favorite parts of any jumpsuit is that they also very easy to layer, whether you put a tee or blouse underneath or a jacket over the top. It always works,” adds Theresa.
