While this year’s holiday season is looking a little different for all--with less travel and smaller gatherings—some things remain the same. This has always been a time of giving back and helping others. While there’s no denying the fun of picking out presents for loved ones, and each year we spend months curating our GIFT GUIDE with pieces from all over the world, being generous of spirit is equally important.

For the past three years, Johnny Was has also worked with a charity that’s close to home and our hearts, Five Acres. A Los Angeles-based non-profit that originally started back in 1888 as an orphanage, over the years, Five Acres, has grown into much more. Their main focus is now children in the foster care system (primarily aged 6 to 14) and helping them find permanency, whether it’s with their biological family or via adoption. They also offer community outreach, mental health services, as well as a residential facility. Read more about the organization here.

To honor the work that Five Acres does all year, we’ve created a special holiday stocking and wine tote, with 100% of the proceeds going to the organization. Crafted from a colorful fabric that features some of our most popular designs, each one is unique. The Wine Tote cinches with a pop-pom tie, while the Stocking has our embroidered trim, inspired by our celebrated Kimonos. Both are perfect to pop in the mail as a gift, leave on the porch of a neighbor as a sweet gesture of thanks, or to spruce up your own house.
